Pride Shabbat Dinner This Friday - June 17!
Join us for a Pre-Pride Shabbat Dinner with Guest Speaker Tomer Chervinsky!
Friday, June 17
Wolfond Centre (36 Harbord St., corner Huron)
7pm
$25 (non-members), $20 (official KT members), $15 (students with valid ID)
Pay by cash at the door
RSVP DEADLINE TUESDAY, JUNE 14 to kulanutoronto@gmail.com. Let us know if you require a veggie option.
We are excited to have guest speaker Tomer Chervinsky talk to us on the following topic: “Queer. Progressive. Zionist. A response to Israel's detractors.”
In recent years, anti-Israel activists have put forward the idea that a person cannot be queer, progressive, and pro-Israel all at the same time. Tomer Chervinsky, gay Jew and a vocal member of the several Progressive Zionist groups, will bring his perspective and experience to discuss how these identities are indeed compatible and interrelated. In addition, he will speak about the need for the progressive, pro-Israel community to reengage with the mainstream Jewish community and tackle the growing trend of the anti-Israel and anti-Jewish sentiment on the left.
Bring a friend and join us for a warm, relaxing, tasty, and enjoyable Shabbat Dinner 2 weeks before Pride.
